What is a Dataset?

A dataset is a collection of separat classes used to train AI models.

A dataset is a collection of classes used for creating or training an AI model. These classes serve as input for the AI model, enabling it to reliably recognize objects such as people, voices or landmarks in videos.
Each class contains training samples, for example images or audio snippets.

Key elements of a dataset:

  • Classes: Each dataset is organized into classes, which represent the categories the AI will learn to recognize. For example:
    • In Face Recognition and Audio, a class could be a specific person, such as Angela Merkel.
    • In Landmark Recognition, a class might be a famous location, such as the Elbphilharmonie.

By using these datasets, AI models can learn to accurately identify and categorize people, landmarks, and voices.
